    Facial Reflexology

A great alternative if you do not like having your feet touched. Like foot reflexology, facial reflexology is designed to encourage your body to function at its optimal level. By working on pressure points on your face, the body’s healing mechanisms are activated. Circulation is improved and toxins eliminated via the lymphatic system. Your entire body will be balanced and as the face is in such close proximity to the brain and cranial nerves, impact on the body systems is heightened.

Additionally, facial reflexology will leave your face looking smoother and more toned as facial muscles are stimulated and muscle tension eased. Circulation is increased and you will be left with a healthy, radiant glow.

    • Improves lymphatic drainage
    • Relieves tension in muscle tissues
    • Relieves mental strain and improves concentration
    • Helps relieve sinusitis/congestion
    • Has a direct rejuvenating effect on the skin and leaves the face glowing and radiant
    • Can bring about a general feeling of calmness and relaxation

    Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage

RLD is an award winning reflexology technique which focuses on the lymphatic system. It was devised by fellow reflexologist, Sally Kay BSc (Hons) for those living with secondary lymphoedema as a result of breast cancer treatment. Patients found that after RLD, swelling and discomfort lessened and strength and mobility increased as excess fluid drained away from the affected area.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage (MLD) is more commonly known and used to treat conditions other than lymphoedema. Excitingly, Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage can be used similarly and can support the following:

    • Lymphoedema
    • Fibromyalgia
    • CFS/ME
    • Post-operative recovery
    • Eczema/Psoriasis
    • Allergies
    • Rheumatoid arthritis
    • Sinus Problems
    • Headaches/Migraines
    • Pregnancy & Premenstrual Fluid Retention

Reflexology is a natural holistic therapy which works on the principle that reflexes in our feet, hands (and face and ears) correspond to the organs, structures and systems within our bodies. When we are fit and well energy flows freely throughout the body but stagnates when we are ill or stressed. Physical or emotional symptoms may then arise. By stimulating the reflex points on the feet, the body’s natural healing mechanisms are activated and can help to bring it back into a state of natural balance.

Reflexology can be received by anyone from newborn babies to those receiving end of life care and everyone in between. However, there may occasionally be times when it is not suitable to provide a treatment.

  • stress
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • infertility
  • headaches and migraines
  • back pain
  • fibromyalgia
  • CFS/ME
  • PMS
  • pregnancy
  • peri menopause
  • circulation
  • skin problems
  • hay fever / asthma

Your first treatment will be a little longer than subsequent treatments as a full medical history will be taken. You’ll also be asked to sign a confidential consent form before the treatment takes place. You will need to remove your socks and shoes and will be seated on a couch or reclining chair. A blanket will be offered to you for your comfort.

I will use my hands to apply pressure to the feet and lower legs and you may feel some fleeting discomfort during the treatment. This may indicate an imbalance in the body. Many people fall asleep during the session and find the experience relaxing and have a sense of well-being afterwards. You may experience a mild healing reaction afterwards as the body rebalances and rids itself of unwanted toxins this is quite normal but can be alleviated by drinking plenty of water and avoiding strenuous activity afterwards.

It would be beneficial if you could relax, avoid alcohol and heavy meals for 24 hours and drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins.
