In Memoriam

A beautiful lady passed away suddenly. Her husband rang to tell me that she was therefore unable to attend the two reflexology appointments that she’d booked. I took the call and the very composed, warm, kindly sounding husband told me his sad news. It shook me to the core as I held myself together for his sake. But when the call ended, the tears flowed.

This you might think is a normal reaction when someone we know or love passes away. However, I’d never actually met this lady. She had though, made a deep impression. There was something very special about her. The warmth in her voice, her laughter and her sense of fun.

She had such energy and a vitality about her that was wonderful to hear. She was intelligent, quick-witted and bright. She was also a former therapist and passionate about helping others. We chatted about our palliative work and how special it is to help someone as they reach the end of their earthly journey and continue in another realm.

Beautiful lady, I may never have met you face-to-face, but you touched my heart and soul in our short time together. Know that a little part of you will always be with me. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and passion.
